For the global launch of their limited-edition single malt, Distil Your World Mexico, The Macallan needed an experiential concept that could be activated worldwide, starting with a flagship production at their spiritual home, The Macallan Estate. The experience had to authentically honor the craft and culture of Mexico City’s Día de los Muertos while creating a moment that resonated far beyond its location.

The answer was Journey Between Worlds. A multi-sensory experience designed to take guests on a journey between cultures, inspiration, and craftsmanship. Rooted in deep research, the concept blended Scottish and Mexican artistry, featuring handcrafted alebrijes, intricate papel picado, and thousands of locally grown marigolds. Every detail was designed to create an authentic yet luxurious celebration of tradition and craft.

Unfolding across seven immersive zones, the experience transported guests from Scotland to Mexico City through evocative design, bespoke headpieces, and evocative storytelling. A six-course gastronomic journey by the Roca brothers and five live performances each night, from The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and Banda Monumental de México, brought the celebration to life. Spanning two nights, Journey Between Worlds featured 50+ custom-designed assets, 5,000 locally grown marigolds, and a meticulously orchestrated production, creating an unforgettable tribute to culture and creativity.
